God sent His only Son to die on the cross for your sins. Christ came to earth in the form of a man, died on the cross, rose from the dead and ascended to heaven to prepare a place for you in eternity with Him. If you want to spend eternity with God some simple steps are below: - Realize you (as all humans) are a sinner: "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23).
- Accept the free gift of God: "The wages of sin is death (spiritual death); but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23).
- Recognize that this gift is not earned or deserved: "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that is not of yourselves; it is the gift of God; not as a result of works so that no one may boast." (Ephesians 2:8,9).
- Believe that Jesus Christ is the only Son of God sent by God to bear the burden of our sins: "For God so loved the world (that's you and 1), that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:1 6).
- Confess and believe that Jesus is God's only Son: "...that if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9).
